The Lisa Stories
The Wrench Story
Apparently my husband
didn't know how to buy
a wrench…
(Hint: He actually did.)
Real Laughs.
Real Hope.

I Thought I Was Helping…
There I was in the hardware store, convinced I was being helpful. My husband needed a wrench, and because I truly loved him and wanted him to have the best of everything, I assumed the most expensive wrench must be the best one. So that was the one I chose for him.
My heart was in the right place. What I didn't understand was that by stepping over his choice and deciding for him, I was accidentally overriding his judgment.
I thought I was communicating, “I love you and want the best for you.” But he may have heard something completely different.
What Was
Really Happening…
I wasn't being helpful.
I was quietly communicating…
“I don't trust your judgement.”
And I didn't even know I was doing it.

The Shift…
Then I learned the Six Intimacy Skills™ and discovered the power of
RelinquishingInappropriate Control.

The Result…
The day I stopped managing everything and gave my husband room to do it his way…
He stepped up more.
Not because I made him…
But because I finally gave him space.
What I Learned…
“Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is permission to do it their own way.”
Small Changes. Big Impact.
When I stopped controlling… and started trusting,
our relationship got stronger, sweeter, and so much
more fun.
